ShamROCK Chicago is a campaign created to promote the city of Chicago as the only place (outside of Ireland) to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The campaign launched with print ads, banner ads, an extensive website where visitors could “ShamROCK their friends”, buy merchandise, learn interesting facts about Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day history and find events, parades and pubs to help plan their celebration. Most importantly, visitors were asked to place their vote online. The campaign was further supported with DIY Green River Press Kits that included simulated river water, green dye and clever directions for use.
